The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong

The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong

About the book  "Strange things are happening in Maya's tiny Vancouver Island town. First, her friend Serena, the captain of the swim team, drowns mysteriously in the middle of a calm lake. Then, one year later, mountain lions are spotted rather frequently around Maya's home—and her reactions to them are somewhat . . . unexpected. Her best friend, Daniel, has also been experiencing unexplainable premonitions about certain people and situations.

It doesn't help that the new bad boy in town, Rafe, has a dangerous secret, and he's interested in one special part of Maya's anatomy—her paw-print birthmark."

My thoughts on the book.  This book has a little action, romance, and a little suspense all so. It also is a good book for teenagers to read.  I had this book read in just a matter of days. I really think this is a really good book and I enjoyed. Now to get the other two books in this series and read them and find out else happens to Maya and her friends.

Full Moon by Rachel Hawthorne

Full Moon by Rachel Hawthorne

About the book "  I may be promised to another . . . but thoughts of Rafe consume me. I don't know how much longer I can resist.

Lindsey is wild and reckless, a natural rebel—maybe because her entire life was laid out for her even before she was born. Her parents are among the most powerful members of the Dark Guardians, an ancient tribe of werewolves, and they arranged Lindsey's betrothal to Connor long ago. The next full moon is coming all too soon, and then her commitment to Connor will be final—no turning back. She should be happy . . . so why can't she stop thinking about gorgeous, brooding Rafe?

When a dangerous threat on the pack escalates, so do tensions between Connor and Rafe. A fight over Lindsey is imminent, but will it be to the death? "

My thoughts on this book " This book is a very good book. Started reading this book  on Tuesday and I had this book read on Wednesday night. It is a very book. The author pulls you into the book and it is almost like you are the character yourself and you are trying to decided what to do. I would recommend this book to everyone. "

Burned by P.C Cast and Kristin Cast

Burned by P.C Cast and Kristen Cast

About the book "When friends stop trusting each other, Darkness is there to fan the flames….

Things have turned black at the House of Night. Zoey Redbird’s soul has shattered. With everything she’s ever stood for falling apart, and a broken heart making her want to stay in the Otherworld forever, Zoey’s fading fast. It’s seeming more and more doubtful that she will be able pull herself back together in time to rejoin her friends and set the world to rights. As the only living person who can reach her, Stark must find a way to get to her.  But how?  He will have to die to do so, the Vampyre High Council stipulates.  And then Zoey will give up for sure. There are only 7 days left…

Enter  BFF Stevie Rae.  She wants to help Z but she has massive problems of her own.  The rogue Red Fledglings are acting up, and this time not even Stevie Rae can protect them from the consequences.  Her kinda boyfriend, Dallas, is sweet but too nosy for his own good.  The truth is, Stevie Rae’s hiding a secret that might be the key to getting Zoey home but also threatens to explode her whole world.

In the middle of the whole mess is Aphrodite: ex-Fledgling, trust-fund baby, total hag from Hell (and proud of it).  She’s always been blessed (if you could call it that) with visions that can reveal the future, but now it seems Nyx has decided to speak through her with the goddess’s own voice, whether she wants it or not.  Aphrodite’s loyalty can swing a lot of different ways, but right now Zoey’s fate hangs in the balance.

Three girls… playing with fire… if they don’t watch out, everyone will get Burned."

My thoughts on this book. " This is a really good book but then again the whole series of The House of Night, is all good books. I can not wait to finish the other books in this series. The author and her daughter knows how to keep you in suspense and leaving you with did that just happen. When a author does that you know the book is a good one. I would recommend this book and series to every one. "

Divergent by Veronica Roth

First I will tell you what the book is about and then I will tell you what my thoughts and opinion is about the book.

Divergent by Veronica Roth

Found this about the book on Amazon. "In Beatrice Prior’s dystopian Chicago world, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can’t have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself. "

My thoughts and opinions about this book. I thought this was a really good book. Started reading it Saturday afternoon and finished it about 7 something last night. Someone once told me that if I liked The Hunger Games that I would love this book also and they was right. I do love this book. Can not wait to get the other books in this series. I love how the author keeps you in suspense of what is going to happen to Beatrice and how Beatrice starts to find herself. I do think it is a little about finding yourself. I will recommend this book to everyone.

An Open Adoption by Lincoln Caplan

An Open adoption by Lincoln Caplan

About the book: This is the true story of an adoption in which the birth and the adoptive parents not only met but formed a complex relationship--one that illuminates the psychological challenges and rewards of what is now called open adoption. Like many couples, Dan and Lee Stone reached the decision to adopt a child after several years of infertility, and much thought about the nature of adoption. Through a lawyer specializing in open adoption, they were brought together with a twenty year old college student who was unmarried and seven months pregnant. Peggy Bass chose the Stones to be the future parents of her child after considering the letters of several couples describing themselves and why they wanted to adopt. The Stones and Peggy Bass were thus launched on what is still considered perilous experiment by those who favor the conventional form of adoption. In fact, closed adoptions in which the identities and all the details about the birth and the adoptive parents are known only to the officials involved in the adoptions are becoming rare. But as Lincoln Caplan shows in chapters interwoven with the absorbing account of the Stone's and Peggy Bass's developing relationship the debate is intense within the adoptive world over whether and how much the birth and the adoptive couples should learn about one another. Mr Caplan explains the changing social values and assumptions about the nature of family that shape the debate, and the psychological and anthropological studies that fuel it studies which look at the impact of adoption on the child and investigate how significant a role genetic endowment plays in determining temperament and achievement. Mr Caplan's dramatic true account of the bond formed by Lee and Dan Stone and Peggy Bass, the social and psychological pressures with which they contended through the birth of Rebecca, and the surprising aftermath, provides extraordinary insights into those questions faced by every adoptive parent, birth mother, and adoptee, as well as anyone who works in the field of adoption.

My thoughts and opinion on the book: I thought this was a really good book. It really explains what open adoption is and what it is like for both the adoptive and birth parents. I will recommend this book to anyone who is thinking of adoption and open adoption.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween, I hope you all are having a good Halloween and that you all stay safe tonight while trick or treating. You know what ever happened to the good old days of going door to door on Halloween. I remember as a kid dressing up in my costume and going door to door trick or treating. It was so much fun. Now days you have fall festival or trunk or treat. Dont get me wrong those are okay to and a little fun but not as fun as it was when I was a kid.  I know that times are tough and not safe anymore but if you ask our parents they would tell you that is how they felt when they was carrying us trick or treating. I hope that in the next several years we can get it back to door to door trick or treating.

Okay here is a few pictures of Mike and I dressed up for Halloween. What all are you dressing up as.
Over look our jeans and the fact that my hair isnt braided. I wish my hair was long enough to braid it like Katniss from hunger games. Yes we dressed up in district 12 training shirts for halloween this year.

This book is a really good book. ( The movie was pretty good to lol) In this book there is a young girl that is fixing to turn 16 years old and she thinks she will be choose for the dark or light. She  is kind of like a witch but they are called casters in the book. She meets this young boy who she tries not to fall in love with because casters are not suppose to be with mortals. But she does falls in love with him. She has to be protected from a dark caster because the dark caster is trying to kill her. In the end she learns that the things that her uncle has told her is not the truth.

To find out more about this young girl pick up the book and read it. I promise you it is a really good book. It is nothing like the movie but both are still good.

The second messiah by Glenn Meade

I really don't know what to make of this book. It is a okay book. Not the best book I have ever read or not but it is okay. It is better then some that I have read. This book is about a archaeologist who finds a scroll in the Dead Sea that could rock the whole regilon community. The scroll gets stolen and a murder happens and this archaeologist is suspected of both crimes and who goes looking for the scroll and to find out who is the really murderer. He finds the woman who he liked as a young man again. And learns everything that is going on.

Like I said I really don't know what to make of it. If you want to learn more about this book please read it and make your on judgement of it.

Uncharted territori by tori spelling

It is a really good book. She talks about how her and her mother made mends on their relationship ( which I am glad that they have it is so nice to that). She talks about how she was sick a lot and staying in the hospital and she talks about being a parent and how she try's to find away to balance her life as a wife, mother, and business woman/actress. It is a really good book. I suggest you go pick it up and read it. That is if you haven't already.

Financial bliss by Bambi holzer

This is a book that is suppose to help a couple learn how to be financial bliss and not to fight over money all the time but this is a boring book. I could not make any sense out of what she was saying. I am sure that there maybe some who will be able to make sense out of it but I couldn't. The only thing I really got from it was that to sit down and talking calmly about your finances and if it gets heated step away and come back to it later and mike and I already does this.

Yes I am saying this is a sucky book. Maybe good if you are fixing to get married to read and learn how to combine your finances but for some it may not.
