Blood Promise by Richelle Mead

Blood Promise by Richelle Mead

About the book

The recent Strigoi attack at St. Vladimir’s Academy was the deadliest ever in the school’s history, claiming the lives of Moroi students, teachers, and guardians alike. Even worse, the Strigoi took some of their victims with them . . . including Dimitri.
He’d rather die than be one of them, and now Rose must abandon her best friend, Lissa—the one she has sworn to protect no matter what—and keep the promise Dimitri begged her to make long ago. But with everything at stake, how can she possibly destroy the person she loves most?

my thoughts on the book.

This book is the fourth book in the Vampire Academy series and it is just as good as the other three. I do have to say though that the first three books are a whole lot better but this one is just as good.

Rose leaves school to find Dimitri. She sets out with the mind set of releasing him from his Strigoi self. Yes if you haven't guessed Dimitri is turned into a Strigoi.  I just do not like Dimitri as Strigoi it just doesnt suit him at all. Along the way Rose meets Dimitri's family ( I really like Dimitri's family they seemed so good)  and also meets another spirit user and her bond mate ( I really do not know what I think about them yet but they seem decent enough).  Rose also meets this guy name Abe, she does not really like him and then she finds something interesting out about him ( I will let you know read the book to find that out. In someways what she finds out I had a feeling it was going to turn out that way. I think this is going to be a interesting turning of events if Ms Mead brings him back into the books. I hope she does. )

When Rose gets home and knocks on Lissa's door and it opens and Lissa pulls her into a hug I cried just a little. It was really good to see that Rose had not lost her friend like she was afraid that she had.

This book is really good and I am looking forward to reading book five (have to go buy it first lol)

Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead

Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead

about the book

WHAT IF FOLLOWING HER HEART MEANS ROSE COULD LOSE HER BEST FRIEND FOREVER?

Lissa Dragomir is a Moroi princess: a mortal vampire with a rare gift for harnessing the earth's magic. She must be protected at all times from Strigoi; the fiercest vampires - the ones who never die. The powerful blend of human and vampire blood that flows through Rose Hathaway, Lissa's best friend, makes her a Dhampir. Rose is dedicated to a dangerous life of protecting Lissa from the Strigoi, who are hell-bent on making Lissa one of them.

Rose knows it is forbidden to love another guardian. Her best friend, Lissa - the last Dragomir princess - must always come first. Unfortunately, when it comes to gorgeous Dimitri Belikov, some rules are meant to be broken...

Then a strange darkness begins to grow in Rose's mind, and ghostly shadows warn of a terrible evil drawing nearer to the Academy's iron gates. The immortal undead are closing in, and they want vengeance for the lives Rose has stolen. In a heart-stopping battle to rival her worst nightmares, Rose will have to choose between life, love, and the two people who matter most... but will her choice mean that only one can survive?

my thoughts about this book.

this is the third book in the Vampire Academy series and it is just as good as book one and two in this series. I really loved it lots.

Ms Mead knows how to draw the readers into her story and make them feel like they are characters that they are reading about it. I really felt like i was right there with Rose as she learnt some of the things that comes along with being Shadow Kiss and I cried with her when she cried.

Why oh Why did the thing that happened to Dimitri had to happen? I am not saying what it is just in case you are reading this review and have not read the book, I do not want to spoil it for you. Just know that something happens to him. I am hoping that the thing that supposedly happen to him comes out that it did not. That him and Rose will be together forever. They make a wonderful couple. I will have to continue reading the series to find out what happens.

I also hope that Lissa does not let the queen control her. I do not like the queen at all.

If you have not read this book or series I recommend that you do and to Ms Mead thank you for your writing. I love it.

Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas

Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas

about the book

Everyone Celaena Sardothien loves has been taken from her. But she's at last returned to the empire-for vengeance, to rescue her once-glorious kingdom, and to confront the shadows of her past...
She has embraced her identity as Aelin Galathynius, Queen of Terrasen. But before she can reclaim her throne, she must fight.
She will fight for her cousin, a warrior prepared to die just to see her again. She will fight for her friend, a young man trapped in an unspeakable prison. And she will fight for her people, enslaved to a brutal king and awaiting their lost queen's triumphant return.
Celaena's epic journey has captured the hearts and imaginations of millions across the globe. This fourth volume will hold readers rapt as Celaena's story builds to a passionate, agonizing crescendo that might just shatter her world.

my thoughts about the book

Okay I am for going the questions on this review. This is another wonderful book by Sarah J Maas. She did a wonderful job drawing you into the book (oh how I wish I was as good as a writer as she is) I felt like I was Celaena/Aelin. I love how Sarah goes from one character to the next and not make it seem boring ( i have read some books like that and it makes it boring and hard to follow sometimes) but Sarah did a good job on this.

Kind of a spoiler alert here but I have to share my thoughts on it lol. I was so looking forward to seeing Celaena/ Aelin being back with Chaol but she does not go back to him not the way I was looking forward to. I really thought they made a good match. But I am glad that they did stay friends though so that is that. I was so glad that this book ended kind of on a happy note. Yes there was so sad parts in it  but not that many. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series and find out what all else happens and learning more about who Aelin wands up with as it seems like in each book it is someone new so we will see if she gets with someone new or stays with Rowan.

Happy Reading.

Crown of Midnight and Heir of Fire by Sarah J Maas

This is going to be two book reviews instead of just one.

About the books

Crown of Midnight
Celaena Sardothien is the king's Champion-yet she is far from loyal to the crown, for the man she serves is bent on evil. But working against her master in secret is no easy task. As Celaena tries to untangle the mysteries buried within the glass castle, she can trust no one, not even her supposed allies Crown Prince Dorian, Captain of the Guard Chaol, and foreign princess Nehemia.
Then, an unspeakable tragedy shatters Celaena's world. She must decide once and for all where her loyalties lie . . . and whom she will fight for.

Heir of Fire
Celaena Sardothien, heroine of the New York Times bestselling series, rises from the ashes to burn even brighter than before.
Celaena has survived deadly contests and shattering heartbreak-but at an unspeakable cost. Now, she must travel to a new land to confront her darkest truth…a truth about her heritage that could change her life-and her future-forever. Meanwhile, brutal and monstrous forces are gathering on the horizon, intent on enslaving her world. Will Celaena find the strength to not only fight her inner demons, but to take on the evil that is about to be unleashed?

my thoughts on the books.
Okay I am not going to do the questions and answers this time around, since I am doing two book reviews.
These books are very very good. I cried when I read both of these books. Yes actually cried with real tears when I read the books. Not tears of bored or anything like that lol. I just got so pulled into the books that I cried when something horrible happened to Celaena. I do not want to give to much away just incase any of you have not read these books yet. But I just have to say that I did not expect some of the things in these books. I did not expect Celaena to end things with Chaol. I really hope that in the other books that she gets back him. I feel like he is her soul mate. I know it is just book characters but come on who hasnt ever felt for the book characters.
The author Ms Sarah J Maas is a very good writer. She knows how to draw you into her books. Now I just need to get the rest of the books in this series so I can find out what happens.
I also would like to put it out there that these books would make a great movie or tv series. I would so watch it.

Happy Reading.

Blood Rose Rebellion by Rosalyn Eves

Blood Rose Rebellion by Rosalyn Eves

about the book

"Sixteen-year-old Anna Arden is barred from society by a defect of blood. Though her family is part of the Luminate, powerful users of magic, she is Barren, unable to perform the simplest spells. Anna would do anything to belong. But her fate takes another course when, after inadvertently breaking her sister’s debutante spell—an important chance for a highborn young woman to show her prowess with magic—Anna finds herself exiled to her family’s once powerful but now crumbling native Hungary.

Her life might well be over.

In Hungary, Anna discovers that nothing is quite as it seems. Not the people around her, from her aloof cousin Noémi to the fierce and handsome Romani Gábor. Not the society she’s known all her life, for discontent with the Luminate is sweeping the land. And not her lack of magic. Isolated from the only world she cares about, Anna still can’t seem to stop herself from breaking spells.

(" Rose took my nose, I suppose," he repeated; the bubble of phlegm in his throat made a disgusting crackle."And it really blows." ) that made me laugh so much lol

5. Why was it your favorite quote?
It was just very funny and was a good idea to have something a little funny in the book to take away from the sad parts.

6. Was there is anything you disliked about the book?
Yes the sad parts. The parts where friends died and or just betrayed them.

7. Were you engaged immediately or did it take you awhile to "get into the book"?
Oh I was engaged in the book immediately. I think I had alittle over half read in a day. Probably would have had the whole book read in a day but I have a 2 year old daughter who needs my attention also.

8. Would you recommend this book to anyone?
Heck yes I would. I think you all should read this book.

9. Is there material in this book that is not good for kids to read?
Depends on the age of the book and also what parents allow their kids to read. If you are okay with your kids reading a book that has kissing and fighting in it then this is a good book for them to read. (All there is just kissing and nothing else in that category so please remember that)

10. Where did you buy it at?
I got this book with the box set at target. But I think I have seen it at walmart, books a million and you also can buy off of amazon also.

Happy reading.

The Maze Runner by James Dashner

The Maze Runner by James Dashner

about the book

Book one in the blockbuster Maze Runner series that spawned a movie franchise and ushered in a worldwide phenomenon! And don’t miss The Fever Code, the highly-anticipated series conclusion that finally reveals the story of how the maze was built!

When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his name. He’s surrounded by strangers—boys whose memories are also gone.
Outside the towering stone walls that surround them is a limitless, ever-changing maze. It’s the only way out—and no one’s ever made it through alive.
Then a girl arrives. The first girl ever. And the message she delivers is terrifying: Remember. Survive. Run.

The Maze Runner and Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials are now major motion pictures featuring the star of MTV's Teen Wolf, Dylan O’Brien; Kaya Scodelario; Aml Ameen; Will Poulter; and Thomas Brodie-Sangster. The third movie, Maze Runner: The Death Cure, will hit screens in 2018.

my thoughts on the book

1. Did you get lost in the book?
No I didnt get lost in the book.

2. Was the character development intriguing?
Kinda but probably was a little ruin for me as I watched the movie first instead of reading the book first lol.

3. Did you care about the characters?
Yes in a way I did.

4. What is your favorite quote from the book?
I promised him!" he screamed, realizing even as he did so that his voice was laced with something wrong. Almost insanity. "I promised I'd save him, take him home! I promised him!

5. Why was it your favorite quote?
You could just feel the raw emotions in it. At least I know I could.

6. Was there anything you disliked about the book?
No

7. Were you engaged immediately, or did it take you a while to "get into it"?
Not at first as like I said before I seen the movie before reading the book so I kinda had idea of what was going to happen.

8. Would you recommend this book to others?
if someone asked me if it was good then yes I would recommend it to them.

9. Is there a lot of material in the book that would not be good for kids to ?
If you do not want your kids to read about fighting and death then this is not a book for them.

10.  Where did you buy it at?
I bought the box set at target but you can buy it on Amazon and I want to say that I have seen it at books a million and barnes and noble but not to sure

Happy reading.
