How to be a Hepburn in a Hilton world by Jordan Christy

about the book
(got off of amazon)
In a society driven by celebutante news and myspace profiles, women of class, style and charm are hard to come by. The Audrey and Katharines of the world continue to lose their luster as thongs, rehab and outrageous behavior burn up the daily headlines. But, despite appearances, guys still want a girl they can take home to their mom, employers still like to see a tailored suit and peers still respect classy conduct. So is it possible to maintain old fashioned virtues in a modern world without looking like a starchy Amish grandma? Christy shows women how in this guide to glamorous style, professional success and true love...the classy way.

Full of fun assignments, notable names and real-life examples, Christy offers a new look at seemingly "old fashioned" advice. She covers diet, speech, work ethic, friends, relationships, manners, makeup, and fashionable yet modest clothing, showing modern ladies how they can be beautiful, intelligent and fun while retaining values and morals.

my thoughts about the book.
It is a okay. I do have a problem with one thing in the book and that is that a woman shouldnt ask a man out. There is nothing wrong with a woman asking a man out. I basically asked my husband out and we have been together every since that day.  With that being said lets move on. This book is okay and does have some good points in it. Us women and even men try to keep up with what celebrities looks and etc. We shouldnt worry about what they are wearing or etc,. We should worry about ourselves.

Would I reread this book again. Probably not. It started out very interesting but then just went to blah.

Would I recommend this book. Well if you want to read it, I am not going to stop you. You can read it for yourself if you want to but I will  most likely not be reading it again but who knows what the future holds.

Happy reading.

Teardrop by Lauren Kate

about the book

quoted from amazon
Never, ever cry. . . . Eureka Boudreaux's mother drilled that rule into her daughter years ago. But now her mother is gone, and everywhere Eureka goes he is there: Ander, the tall, pale blond boy who seems to know things he shouldn't, who tells Eureka she is in grave danger, who comes closer to making her cry than anyone has before.

But Ander doesn't know Eureka's darkest secret: ever since her mother drowned in a freak accident, Eureka wishes she were dead, too. She has little left that she cares about, just her oldest friend, Brooks, and a strange inheritance—a locket, a letter, a mysterious stone, and an ancient book no one understands. The book contains a haunting tale about a girl who got her heart broken and cried an entire continent into the sea. Eureka is about to discover that the ancient tale is more than a story, that Ander might be telling the truth . . . and that her life has far darker undercurrents than she ever imagined.

my thoughts about the book
First of all I just want to say I am sorry that it has taken so long to finish this book and review.  The reason why it has taken me so long to finish the book and write this review is because my daughter has taken my time away from reading. But I have been slowly reading when I can here and there and I want to thank my husband for watching our daughter today while I finished this book. Now on to my review.

I loved this book. It was very wonderful read. There was times I wanted to cry for the lead character Eureka.  I loved how the author pulls you in the story and how you are traveling along Eureka journey with her. This will be one of those books that I will look forward to rereading in the future. I cannot wait to get purchase the second book and give it a read. If you asked me if I would recommend this book to a friend or to you readers, Yes I will be recommending this book you. I already am. I am looking forward to reading where Eureka journey carries her.

Happy Reading
