Cress by Marissa Meyer
about the book
Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, with Scarlet and
Wolf in tow. Together they're plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and her
army.
Their best hope lies with Cress, who has been trapped on a
satellite since childhood with only her netscreens as company. All that
screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker; unfortunately, she's
just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome
accomplice.
When a daring rescue goes awry, the group is
separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a high price.
Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing stop her marriage to Emperor
Kai. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the
world, but they may be the only ones who can.
my thoughts about the book.
(may contain spoilers)
1. Did you get lost in the book? Yes I did. That is when my daughter wasnt trying to get my attention lol.
2. Was the character development intriguing? Yes it was. It was a wonderful see how Cress when to a shy girl to a strong young woman.
3. Did you care about the characters? Yes I did. When Scarlet got kidnapped I almost started crying and then I almost started crying when Wolf found out what happened to Scarlet.
4. What is your favorite quote from the book? "Try to find something that makes you happy. Your life is not going to to get easier once Queen Levana is your wife. If you had even one small thing that brought you happiness, or hope that things could someday be better, then maybe that would be enough to sustain you. Otherwise, I fear it will be too easy for the queen to win."
5. Why was it your favorite quote? Because it shows that the Emperor Kai is struggling with his daily life and what is to become. Also it can be a good quote to remember at all times to use in your own daily life. As we all have struggles that we go thru.
6. Was there anything you disliked about the book? No, there was nothing I disliked about this book.
7. Were you engaged immediately, or did it take you a while to "get into it"? Yes, I was immediately engaged. I couldn't wait to learn more about Cress and what happens with Cinder and her friends.
8. Would you recommend this book to others? Yes why Yes I would recommend this book to others. I am recommending to all you readers out there to go and pick this book up and read it.
9. Is there a lot of material in the book that would not be good for kids to ? If you do not want your kids to read books with fighting then this is not a book for them to read. As it does have fighting in it.
10. Where did you buy it at? I bought it at Target. But you can purchase it from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and also at ibooks.
I hope you all have enjoyed this book review. Please keep a check on others that I hope to do this year.

Frostfire by Amanda Hocking
Frostfire by Amanda Hocking
about the book
Hidden deep in the heart of a snow-covered wilderness lies the secret kingdom of the Kanin―a magical realm as beautiful as it is treacherous…
Bryn Aven has never fit into Kanin society. Her blond hair and blue eyes set her apart as an outsider―a half-blood unable to hold a respectable rank. But she's determined to prove herself as a loyal protector of the kingdom she loves. Her dream is to become a member of the King's elite guard, and she's not going to let anything stand in her way…not even her growing feelings for her boss, Ridley Dresden. A relationship between them is strictly forbidden, but Bryn can't fight her attraction to him. And she's beginning to think he feels it too.
Meanwhile, there's an attack on the kingdom―one that will test Bryn's strength like never before. Finally, she has the chance to confront Konstantin Black, the traitor who tried to kill her father years ago. It's up to Bryn to put a stop to him before he strikes again. But is she willing to risk everything to protect a kingdom that doesn't accept her for who she really is? And when her mission brings her closer to Ridley, will she be able to deny her heart?
my thoughts on the book
I am going to do the review a little different on this one. I am going to answer a list of questions about the book.

2. Was the character development intriguing? Yes it was. To follow Bryn in her journey of trying to find the guy who was going after her people and learning her true feelings for Ridley was very intriguing .
3. Did you care about the characters? Yes, I did. I was hoping that Bryn would become close to Ridley. When Bryn was worried or upset with her friends, I was upset and worried right a long with her.
4. What is your favorite quote from the book? "I've wanted to kiss you practically since the day I met you. But I knew you would never let me."
5. Why was it your favorite quote? Because it showed Bryn that she was not a lone with her feelings.
6. Was there anything you disliked about the book? No there is nothing that I disliked about the book. I thought it was actually a pretty good book to read.
7. Were you engaged immediately, or did it take you a while to "get into it"? Yes I was immediately engaged in the book.

Scarlet The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
Scarlet The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
about the book
Cinder is back and trying to break out of prison―even though she'll be the Commonwealth's most wanted fugitive if she does―in this second installment from Marissa Meyer.
Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit's grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn't know about her grandmother, or the grave danger she has lived in her whole life. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother's whereabouts, she is loath to trust this stranger, but is inexplicably drawn to him, and he to her. As Scarlet and Wolf unravel one mystery, they encounter another when they meet Cinder. Now, all of them must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen Levana.
my thoughts on the book
This is a really good book to read. I had started to read it back in July but as my daughter would not let me read it everytime I picked it I never did finish it until yesterday. Yesterday while my husband was home I picked the book up and did not put it down until I had it read completely. Which I think when I picked it up to read I had like 300 something pages to read and I finished it last night about 8:30 or 9:00 one. I really do think it is a good book.
I loved how I was pulled into the book so much that I felt like I was Scarlet and then Cinder. I felt like when Scarlet was searching for her grandmother I was right there with her. I was right there with her when she meet Wolf. I imaged that he kind of looked like my husband (but that is only because I never can image what another guy looks like as I always see my husband and he is the only one I want to image lol ) I felt like I was going right a long with Cinder as she tries to find answers.
Yes, I am recommending this book to you all to read. Go now and pick it up. Go pick it up at target or buy it on amazon. You will be happy that you read it. That is if you like books like this.
Now I am off to try to read another. Happy Reading
